Armor of God.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I have been working on two posts about prayer for a little over a week and my motivation is severely lacking. I believe that satan is attacking me every way that he can to get me to not finish these posts. I feel so strongly that they need to be written but my confidence is shaken and my faith is being tested. I did the only thing I knew to do. I reached out to family and friends in my Christian blogging groups and asked for prayers and encouragement. I want to share with you what they shared with me. I am determined to get these posts written and when I do it will be because God put these people in my life to help give me the strength to tell satan “not today. You don’t win.”
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
“Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”
1 John 4:4
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.”
2 Timothy 1:7
‘For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
And one of my favorites from my Aunt Bobbie.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
On top of these amazing scriptures of strength and encouragement, people shared their stories of triumph and prayed for my strength and that the words would flow from God.
Not today, satan. The battle has already been won.
