There are Far Better Things Ahead
Hello!! I am Stephanie Robbins from A Red Hair Girl. This is such an honor to be a guest blogger with Lana. Thank you so much for having me! A quick bit about me…
I have 4 kids, 1 to 7 years old. I’ve been married to my best friend for almost 11 years. For nine years I taught first grade. It’s been about 3 and a half that I have been a stay at home mama. I have depression, anxiety, and ADD. It can get rough at times.
One thing that has helped me is reading motivational quotes. It helps remind me of the good in the world, and in myself. I started a Sunday Motivation on my blog where I share an inspirational quote on Sundays. I’d love it if you stopped by to read more awesome quotes.
This quote comes from C. S. Lewis. What I love about it, besides the fact that it is true, is the freedom it can give. There are better things ahead.
I think about the times I lost my temper with my children or Eddy (my husband). I remember doubting myself or someone else. The fears of depression or failure that I have had in the past creep in.
These 12 words are very powerful and inspiring! They can give hope that the future can be better. They inspire me to try to forget the past, at least the bad parts. I want to remember the good and the joy.
Learning from the bad parts of my past can help me make better choices in the future. But after the lessons learned I can forget the bad parts. Haha!
I can feel a sense of relief when reading or thinking about these words by C. S. Lewis because someone else is telling us to look forward. We can leave the past in the past and move towards the now and future.
I also like the feeling of thinking about the better things ahead. I know when we are having hard times we may think are never going to end or they will continue repeat. But I want you to think about this quote often and realize you too have great things in your future. You are worth it!
Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Stephanie.
